Thanks for all the birthday wishes!! You guys are awesome! Meet Irina, my fellow passenger on my flight to Moscow. She couldn’t speak English, pretty confident she knew I couldn’t speak Russian, yet that didn’t stop her from talking to me throughout the journey. After a mix up with seats, our friendship started. I helped her with luggage, gave her my drink and water, helped with her luggage and seatbelt, ordered her food and helped open her lunch. Held her hand during turbulence and she used my shoulder to rest and sleep. In return I know I got the blessings of an elder. We conversed through smiles, eyes, hand gestures to amplify our native tongues. I wanted to capture this moment as a memory and reminder that I know someone else in my position would hopefully do the same if it was my mother. When I pointed to my head as I wanted this picture for a memory, she pointed to my dimple and smile. Travelling opens up opportunities to experience people, and I am blessed for these experiences.
